H.E.A.T.’s Blog

H.E.A.T. Total Facility Solutions presented the Van Wert School Board with a $41,682.88 check from AEP Ohio. The rebate check is based on lighting work that was performed at the Van Wert HS/MS complex and the S.F. Goedde Building. At the Board of Education’s February meeting, Robinson noted that the work at the Goedde Building resulted in a 48% reduction in the lighting system’s wattage.

AEP Ohio presented Jefferson Local Schools a Certificate of Recognition for their commitment to energy efficiency and the environment. They have reduced their energy use by 1,091,438 kWh per year and CO2 emissions by 934 tons annually which is the equivalent of 148 cars off the road per year.

Jefferson Local’s House Bill 264 project has been a spectacular success with the district saving annually three times what their financed costs are. They have reduced electric consumption by 31% and gas consumption by 51%. Jill Smith, Treasurer had this to say about the program: “We made the best investment that we could have made for the district with this program.”

AEP Ohio presented Barnesville Schools a Certificate of Recognition for their commitment to energy efficiency and the environment. They have reduced their energy use by 1,000,000 kWh per year and CO2 emissions by XXX tons annually which is the equivalent of 110 cars off the road per year.

The Ohio School Facilities Commission approved Bloom-Carroll’s submittal for their House Bill 264 project.  “Work has already begun at the Bloom-Carroll facility and by the end of the summer we expect to have taken major steps in improving student and faculty comfort while at the same time significantly reducing the district’s consumption” – Ron Thomas, H.E.A.T. President
